Systems Matter

Yep systems matter. Details need to align and add value to your product or be necessary for compliance. When you achieve this, systems flow, staff enjoy following them. Flow is a state that feels awesome (we become one with our work - lol).

Systems thinking means understanding the things you are designing systems for. It takes a bit of effort and time. It’s an investment.

The good news is that we have some first principles when designing systems. Elon Musk says first principles are very important when learning anything. Elon seems to be a system design superhero.

Our systems are of course much easier than his. We are aiming to stay on the ground. However, modern business means software and software means systems need expertise and the ability to see the bigger picture, align this to your goals and then simplify the details down until just the most necessary are left. Phew, sounds like a lot. Don’t be overwhelmed.

We design systems for Xero, job apps, admin and a bit on the job site if you like. The site is more a way of thinking and extracting simplicity. You know your worksite and trade we know systems thinking.

Consider a system review. Get flow. Be more efficient. Have happier staff. That’s my mission.
