Think Facilitation for Delegation

I want admin help but I don’t know how to get the tasks out of my head.

Sound familiar?

I hear this comment all the time.

I even say it myself when business is busy.

I’m in the process of growing my business and that means having someone help me with my admin and some operations (bookkeeping) work.

I’m over having my mind feel like popcorn. Too many ideas, too much pop and too much reaction. I call this #ThePopcornProblem. I’m sure the Mum’s reading this who help run a business while also running the home are familiar with this problem.

Facilitation Thinking

I’ve realised that doing what I do with clients is the best way to stop the popcorn problem and make delegation of straightforward tasks a reality.

I facilitate Xero and job app learning with clients by walking beside them. I provide structure and clarity to guide their actions. I document process so they can do the task the same way each time and can improve on the process because we have something written down. In short, I am a facilitator of learning.

Over time, these documented processes mean a business owner can take a holiday without the (routine) parts of the business falling over. We all want that don’t we! I’m not there yet, as the delegation journey within my own business is new, but I’ve done enough work with clients to know that facilitation through documented process is the way forward.

It takes time and commitment to delegate successfully. I believe, facilitating tasks with documented processes is the best way to achieve this.
